Craig Decker

Director of Campus Recreation at The University of Alabama at Birmingham

Serving as the Director of University Recreation, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Mr. Decker is responsible for creating an environment that inspires innovation and effective student development outcomes. He provides vision and leadership for leading UAB’s dynamic and comprehensive Department of University Recreation. Previously, he served as the Associate Director at West Virginia University, where he was responsible for managing, leading, and directing the operational, financial, and personnel functions for Campus Recreation facilities, programs, and services. After graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Kinesiology, Mr. Decker went on to work as the Graduate Assistant for Facility Operations at the University of Florida. While at the University of Florida, he also obtained his M.S. in Sport Management. His career has taken him to the University of Virginia, back to the University of Florida, and then to Florida Atlantic University before his previous position at West Virginia University.
