The collaboration combines operational expertise and emerging technology to help colleges and universities modernize facility and event management.

Washington, DC | March 25, 2026 — CENTERS, a national leader in campus center management, announced today a strategic partnership with DoubleSpot, an innovative platform designed to streamline member management, program registrations, events, and facility operations across a variety of campus centers.

The partnership brings together CENTERS’ operational expertise across recreation and wellness centers and multi-use event facilities with DoubleSpot’s emerging technology and AI capabilities. The collaboration focuses on improving how colleges and universities manage and activate their spaces.

As part of the partnership, CENTERS will provide real-world operational data, workflows, and insights from its national portfolio of managed facilities to help inform and refine DoubleSpot’s platform and AI models. This ensures that the technology is grounded in the day-to-day realities of campus operations, from programming and event coordination to user experience and revenue management.

“This partnership reflects the future of campus center operations,” said Jeff Sessine, Executive Vice President of CENTERS. “Our teams are managing increasingly complex facilities with growing expectations around service, efficiency, and revenues. By working closely with DoubleSpot, we are helping shape a platform that is built from the operator’s perspective and designed to meet the evolving needs of higher education.”

From Idea to Industry Application

DoubleSpot was founded by Sean Chang, a University of Illinois Recreation, Sport and Tourism alumnus, who developed the platform after identifying gaps in outdated facility management systems during his work in the sports and venue industry.

DoubleSpot was originally inspired by a question posed during his time working with professional sports organizations about how underutilized spaces could be activated more effectively. It has now evolved into a comprehensive platform designed to help facilities maximize utilization, streamline operations, and improve access for users.

The company’s early growth has been shaped by a human-centered, customer-driven approach, informed by direct feedback from facility managers and operators across higher education and community recreation environments.

“We built DoubleSpot by listening to operators and understanding what they actually need day-to-day,” said Chang. “Partnering with CENTERS allows us to take that even further. We are learning directly from teams managing high-performing campus facilities and using that insight to build a platform that improves both operations and the overall experience of using these spaces.”

Through the partnership, DoubleSpot gains access to a robust, real-world operating environment, enabling faster iteration, more informed product development, and the ability to scale solutions that reflect the complexity of modern campus centers.

The collaboration will initially focus on integrating DoubleSpot within select CENTERS-managed facilities, with the goal of enhancing operational efficiency, improving user experience, and unlocking new insights through data and AI-driven tools.

For CENTERS, the partnership also reflects its broader commitment to supporting client missions, advancing innovation, and developing the next generation of industry leaders. By investing in solutions that improve operations and enhance the campus experience, CENTERS continues to align operational excellence with student development.

As institutions continue to evaluate how to modernize legacy systems and better activate their campus assets, CENTERS and DoubleSpot see this partnership as a step toward more flexible, integrated, and forward-looking approaches to facility, member, and event management.
