Over 30 CENTERS employees, representing eight sites, attended the NIRSA Annual Conference held March 23-26 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Educational sessions at the conference included tracks on facility management/planning/design, programming, equity/diversity/inclusion, well-being, and higher education trends. CENTERS presented on career planning, supervising employees, and event planning, as well as instructed at the fitness forum.

Bringing Home the Hardware

Congratulations to Yvette Kell, PhD, CENTERS at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Director of  Campus Recreation, on receiving the Regional Award of Merit for Outstanding Contributions to Region IV. Also, congratulations to CENTERS at Jacksonville State University URec on the Creative Excellence Award for the “Dalton’s Trippin’” web series.

Breakfast and Connections

The CENTERS-sponsored Breakfast & Connections event was a huge success. Facilitated by NIRSA’s Student Leadership Team, this networking event connects students and professionals together.

Making a Statement

Seneca Wilson, CENTERS at University of Alabama-Birmingham Director of Campus Recreation, gave tributes to Dr. William N. Wasson, NIRSA’s founder, and Juliette Moore, NIRSA’s first Black female President and Honor Award recipient, by delivering poems he wrote in their honor.
